(FAA)hasnotifiedCamdenCounty,Georgiathatithassetadateforthereleaseofthe
FinalSpaceportCamdenEnvironmentalImpactStatement(EIS).TheFAAannounced
todaythatintendstoissueanddistributetheFinalEISonDecember16,2019.Arecord
ofdecisionisexpectednoearlierthanthirtydaysafterthereleaseofthefinalEIS.
“We'vebeenwaitingalongtimeforthisannouncementandCamdenCountyhasbeen
workingverycloselywiththeFAAtokeepourlaunchapplicationreviewonschedule,”
saidCountyCommissionChairman,JimmyStarline.“Giventhecomplexitiesinvolvedin
anEnvironmentalImpactStatementandthenumberoffederalagenciesinvolved,the
FAAhasdonearemarkablejobofadheringtoitsestimatedtimeline,”addedCounty
Administrator,SteveHoward.
