Commissionersisseekingapplicantstofillone(1)vacancyontheCoastalWorkforce
DevelopmentBoard(CWDB)asaCountyrepresentative.
TheCWDBiscomprisedofrepresentativesfromeachoftheRegion12counties,includingBryan,
BullochCamden,Chatham,Effingham,Glynn,Liberty,Long,andMcintosh.Theprimary
responsibilityoftheBoardistoensurethatworkforcedevelopmentprogramswithinourregion
operateeffectivelyandefficientlytosupportthelaborandjobtrainingneedsofallemployment
seekers.
Withafocusonstrategicplanning,policydevelopment,andoversightofthelocalworkforce
system,theCWDBconsistsofatleast51%privateand49%publicsectorrepresentationwith
somemandatedpartners.TheBoardofCountyCommissionersappointsmemberstotheCWDB
whoserveatermofthree(3)years.BoardandCommitteemeetingsaregenerallyheldin
RichmondHillandSavannah.Representativesofbusinesseswithemploymentopportunitiesthat
reflecttheemploymentopportunitiesofthelocalarea,aswellasownersofbusinesses,chief
executiveoroperatingofficers,employerswithoptimalpolicy-makingorhiringauthority,are
encouragedtoapply.
Qualificationsforapplicantsincludethefollowing:
eMustresideinCamdenCounty
eAbilitytoserveatermofthree(3)years
ePersonalcommitmenttotheCountyandConstituentstheyrepresent
eAbilitytoactivelyparticipateintheeffortsoftheBoard&Committees
eAbilitytoattendregularlyscheduledmeetings&participationoncommitteesgenerallyheld
attheRichmondHillCityCenterat11:00AMfollowedbylunch
