CountySchools,NavalSubmarineBaseKingsBay,andSoutheastGeorgiaHealth
SystemtoformaunifiedresponsetothepotentialimpactsofCOVID-19onCamden
Countycitizens.
FollowingEmergencyDeclarationsfrombothPresidentTrumpandGovernorKemp,the
CamdenCountyBoardofCommissionershaveissuedaPrecautionaryDeclarationof
PublicHealthEmergencytoallowforcertainemergencymeasures.
InaccordancewithGovernorKemp’sguidanceandtobestprioritizestudentandstaff
safety,effectiveTuesday,March17th,CamdenCountySchoolswillbeclosedindefinitely.
DistancelearningwillcommenceonWednesday,March18thandallschoolsandschool
buildingswillremainclosedasofMarch18thanduntilfurthernotice.Moredetailswillbe

AsCOVID-19continuestohaveamajorimpactontheStateofGeorgiawiththenumber
ofconfirmedcasesincreasingby50%betweenSaturdayandSunday,itisimportantto
takepreemptiveactionstoavoidlargenumbersofCamdenCountyresidentsfallingsick
withthisvirus.AllCamdenCountyresidentsareurgedtopracticesocialdistancingand
avoidclosecontactwithpeoplewhoaresick.Putdistancebetweenyourselfandother
peopleasCOVID-19spreadsthroughouttheStateofGeorgia.Thisisespecially
importantforpeoplewhoareathigherriskofgettingverysick,includingpeoplewith
compromisedimmunesystemsandseniorcitizens.
