seekingqualifiedapplicantstoserveontheBoardofAssessors,District4andDistrict5
Appointments.TheCamdenCountyBoardofAssessorsisafive-memberboardthatisappointedby
majorityvoteoftheCamdenCountyBoardofCommissioners.EachCountyCommissionershall
nominateamemberoftheBoardofAssessorsaccordingtothedistrictallocation.Anynomineeshall
beapprovedbyamajorityvoteoftheBoardofCommissioners.
TheBoardofAssessorsischargedwithspecificadministrativeandstatutoryduties,including
investigatingdiligentlyandinquiringintothepropertyownedinthecountyforthepurposeof
ascertainingwhatrealandpersonalpropertyissubjecttotaxation.Also,theBoardofAssessorsare
responsiblefortheapprovalordenialofconservationuse,homestead,andspecialexemption
applications.Eachmemberoftheboardreceivesamonthlystipendforhisorherservice.
Qualificationsforapplicantsincludethefollowing:
eMustbeatleasttwenty-one(21)yearsofage.
eMustholdahighschooldiplomaoritsequivalent.
eMustresideinCamdenCounty,Georgia.
eAbilitytoserveafour(4)yearterm.
eAbilitytoattendtwomonthlyscheduledmeetingsheldthefirstandthirdThursdayofthe
month,at6:00p.m.,intheCommissioner'sChamberslocatedonthe2"floorofthe
GovernmentServicesComplexat200E.4"StreetinWoodbine.
eMustbeabletocomplete40hoursofstatemandatedtrainingpriortoorwithin180daysof
appointment.
eMustnotholdanystate,countyormunicipaloffice.
eMustnotbeimmediatelyrelatedtoanymemberoftheCamdenCountyBoardof
Commissioners.
eAbilitytoactivelyparticipateintheroleoftheCamdenCountyBoardofAssessors.
