City Mgr. in Farmington about study and the ways to improve the system – Some talk about improving partnerships ---PAGE BREAK--- Themes & Observations β€’ Roundabouts: majority of respondents in favor – They slow traffic down – Keep it moving β€’ People feel getting into and out of area is problem – Air service – Alternatives to driving your own car β€’ Freight: rail connection and truck route use by large trucks ---PAGE BREAK--- Themes & Observations β€’ Aesthetics of roadways is factor for quality of life and attracting tourists and new residents β€’ We have done well designing for drivers, that works well, for most part ---PAGE BREAK--- Elements to add β€’ Project Prioritization Methodology (FHWA review of 2012) – Prioritize projects – Demonstrate consistency with identified goals – Quantitative and qualitative β€’ Performance Measures (MAP-21, federal transportation law) – Federal, State and local measures – Quantitative and qualitative or descriptive – Need to establish baseline – Need to find ways to measure ---PAGE BREAK--- Going Forward β€’ This is an update, and we have key elements that need to be added β€’ Approx. 15 chapters (plan elements) β€’ Chapters will be presented during January, February, March β€’ Goal of final adoption in April 2015
